West Chicago First Floor Update

A Fresh Start for a Warm, Inviting Home

When our clients in West Chicago reached out, they were ready to give their first floor a fresh new look. Their goal was to create a space that felt lighter, brighter, and more connected, while still maintaining the welcoming, comfortable feel they loved.

By focusing on thoughtful updates—from the flooring and fireplace to kitchen finishes and staircase details—we helped transform their vision into reality.

Project Highlights

Lighter, Brighter Flooring

We installed light-toned wood-look flooring throughout the main living spaces. This simple but impactful change made the rooms feel larger, more open, and seamlessly connected.

Fireplace Transformation

The existing fireplace was completely reimagined with custom millwork, a natural wood mantel, integrated wall sconces, and a fresh stone surround. The result is a striking focal point that blends warmth with a clean, updated style.

Kitchen Refresh

Small updates brought a big transformation to the kitchen. A sleek new backsplash, modern black hardware, and a shiplap-wrapped island added just the right amount of texture and contrast, giving the space a fresh, cohesive feel.

Staircase Redesign

The staircase was upgraded with bold black railings and new wall paneling, tying the entire first floor together with a modern yet timeless design statement.

Before and After

Every element of this remodel worked together to bring a lighter, more cohesive feel to the home. From updated flooring to elevated architectural details, the first floor now reflects a style that feels both fresh and familiar.
