Breathing New Life Into a Classic Space

For this bathroom remodel, part of our Old Home. New Charm. project, the goal was to honor the original character of the home while reimagining the layout to feel more functional, fresh, and full of personality.

With smart design decisions and carefully layered details, this once-cramped bathroom now feels open, bright, and effortlessly stylish.

Project Highlights

Rethinking the Layout for Better Living

The original clawfoot tub was charming, but it wasn’t the best fit for the sloped ceiling and limited square footage.
By removing the tub and introducing a spacious walk-in shower, we created a more breathable layout that makes the entire room feel larger and more usable. Crisp white subway tiles keep the space light and clean, while matte black fixtures bring in a bold, timeless contrast.

Maximizing Storage with Custom Shelving

With a sloped ceiling presenting a unique challenge, we turned a design limitation into an opportunity. Custom-built shelving was added to perfectly fit the angled wall, providing practical storage without sacrificing style. The natural wood tones add warmth and soften the room's clean-lined finishes.

Bold, Beautiful Flooring

The floor instantly sets the tone for this space. Star-patterned tile was selected to introduce a layer of playful energy, anchoring the room without overwhelming it. It’s a bold detail that feels fresh yet fitting for the home's classic charm.

Vanity as the Focal Point

A striking black vanity with brass hardware grounds the design and ties the modern and traditional elements together. Paired with crystal sconces and a vintage-inspired arched mirror, the space feels both polished and inviting — a perfect blend of old and new.

Reflecting on the Transformation

This project is a perfect example of how thoughtful updates can transform a space without losing the character that makes it special.
By focusing on smart layouts, layered textures, and timeless materials, we were able to bring new life to this classic home while staying true to its story.
